Life by Design Therapy
Feeling misunderstood in your relationship can be one of the loneliest experiences.
You’re trying.
You’re communicating the best way you know how.
But somehow, it still feels like they don’t get you.
Like you're speaking different languages.
If that’s you, I want you to know:
✨ You’re not too much.
✨ Your needs aren’t wrong.
✨ You’re not asking for something unreasonable.
Often, when we feel misunderstood, what we’re really longing for is emotional safety.
To feel seen, known, and responded to with care.
When we’re not feeling safe or heard, we can start protecting ourselves instead of connecting.
Maybe you shut down, get defensive, or over-explain.
Not because you don’t care, but because you don’t feel seen.
If this sounds familiar, your relationship isn’t doomed.
But it might be time to slow down and get curious:
Am I expressing what I need, or just what I’m upset about?
Do we both know how to listen without fixing or defending?
Are we speaking from our pain, or from our longing?
You deserve to feel understood.
And it’s okay to need help getting there.
It starts with safety, honesty, and sometimes support from someone who can help you translate what your heart is really trying to say. ❤️
