Have intention before the conversation - when you set yourself up mentally for the conversation, you're more likely to create a safe space for discussion rather than an argument.
Think before you speak - do your best to respond and not react.
Use "I Feel" statements - this technique removes the blame from the opposite party which will allow defense walls to come down.
Listen with the intention to understand - When listening to the other party's side of things do your best to step into their shoes and understand their perspective.
