Areas to Release Anxiety

 


When you're feeling anxious, it's important to find ways to soothe both your body and your mind because it can create a lot of physical tension.

Here are a few places on your body to be aware of and release anxiety from…

  1. Neck - you can nod up and down or make slow circles in both directions.
  2. Hands - close your hand into a tight fist and then release by stretching and spreading your fingers.
  3. Jaw - work on opening and closing your mouth, and if it feels comfortable, shift your jaw from side to side.
  4. Stomach - relax your tummy and sway your arms back and forth.
  5. Muscles - become aware of the muscles across your body that may feel tense and slowly relax them.
  6. Chest - cross your hands over your chest and take some deep breaths.
