Mindfulness Tools For Children
What if we could give our children real life superpowers?
You can with providing them with mindfulness tools that they can take with them for the rest of their life! These tools aid with emotional regulation, body awareness and communication skills.
- Watchful Walks - walking in nature is incredibly calming for our bodies. Encourage your children to notice the beauty around them—the rustling leaves, the chirping birds.
- Silly Putty Stretch - Encourage your child to stretch their bodies. Stretching can be very calming and teaches your child to be aware of how their body is feeling.
- Counting Breaths - Have your child take breaths while you count. You can try box breathing as well. Draw a box as they inhale for 4 counts and exhale for 4 counts.
- Koala Kindness - this is a gratitude and kindness exercise. You and your child can write a card, draw a picture or even call someone you love to tell them how grateful you are for them.
